So, I just ripped open the box containing my copy of modern Baby–Easy, Fresh, and Fun Quilt Designs. And it looks so pretty. It is my first ever quilt project in a book. Woot! Who doesn’t want to be in a book, right? Right.
modern baby is a lovely, curated book with fun quilts for babies designed by modern quilters/ bloggers such as Shea Henderson (of Empty Bobbin) and Carolyn Friedlander among so many others.
The book is available now at Amazon, Barnes&Noble, ShopMartingale.com, and your LOCAL SHOP!!!
I based The Birdhouse Quilt on a painting I created for a series of greeting cards for Wishfulls.com over here. (You gotta love Kinko’s huge printers for scaling up artwork to create quilt patterns.) This design is sweet and cheerful. The quilt is easy to create, because the entire image is created with fusible appliqué, so it is really like making a big collage.

A delightful baby noise…. it has to be coos. Love those baby noises and love your adorable quilt.
Such a sweet quilt! I love the look of the quilting on it, too. And OF COURSE I would love to win a copy of the book.
My most favorite baby noise is when the baby starts “talking” back when “coo-ed” at. Almost as sweet as when they first smile back at you.
I love about anything that has birds–cute! Thanks for the opportunity to win this book!
Baby noise… I had one that said, ‘a-YA’ 24/7, and another one who said ‘brroommmm brrrrroooom’ to everything before he could even walk. Congrats on the success of your birdhouse quilt. Lovely!!
Karin
I really like this one, happy spring and time for nesting.
I love your quilt and this book looks fantastic :-)Gagaga!!
I think my favorite baby noise was when mine were 2 or 3 months old and the sound they made was “a goo”. I always thought it sounded like they were saying “I’m good”…8-)
Very creative. I like it very much.
I had triplets, and one of them cried A Lot for the first 5 months, so my favorite baby noise soon came to be SILENCE.
Love the bird house flowers!
Your quilt is so wonderful! I love it!
I adore the quilt & your fabrics!!
I would LOVE this book. Perfect for putting together a little quilt for a few new babies that friends are having. *insert cutest baby giggle ever here* 🙂

Your quilt is just what I love- birds and houses – but so well put together. Such an good eye for color and design. My favorite baby noise would be “ma ma ma ma”! Thanks for the chance for this wonderful book.
Just darling baby quilts, loved the sound baby’s make when they stretch. Thanks.
A particularly delightful baby noise is when they first say Mama or Dada. Our son talked a LOT when he was a kid, and now that he’s grown and moved away it seems awfully quiet here.
Gorgeous quilts
I like the silent yawning smile that babies have … and later I train them to say my name in one shape or another
My favorite baby noise is when they giggle. So cute. And about your Birdhouse Quilt…just yesterday I was visiting homes as part of quilt house tour and there was your quilt made by a friend to be displayed in a local shop! Everyone was ooooohing and ahhhhing!
I love when you catch them laughing in their sleep. So sweet!

Favourite baby noise has to be raspberries!
Bugga bugga bugga! Thanks for the chance!
Shhhhh! Baby is sleeping…ahhh…so peaceful right now…I’m resting before the next round.
Blowing Rasberries at you. 🙂 That was my kids favorite when they were little. They got so excited when they could repeat it back. I would love to win. Totally adore the birdhouse.
Love, love, love your quilt! You are one talented lady. How neat that this quilt came from one of your cards. Congratulations in having your quilt included in the book. My daughter would not say ma-ma to me until she was almost two. My DH said she would say mama if I wasn’t there, wierd I know, hehe. So that ended up being my favorite when she finally said mama where I heard it.
Thank you for a great giveaway and a chance to win.
