I love stamps. All different kinds of stamps. I love that we honor the people in our culture who do great things by putting them on our letters. Little, tiny homages zooming about on pieces of paper. But OMG for the abstract painter, today is a lovely day. I went to the post office and lo and behold there it was: a sheet of Rothko, Joan Mitchell, Motherwell, de Kooning, Newman, Pollock, Gorky, etc. The Motherwell stamp might be my favorite because of its boldness and scale.
